Puerto Rican University Receives $3 Million Award

Deputy Secretary of Commerce makes the announcement regarding support for internet technology in San Juan.

The Department of Commerce awarded Puerto Rico’s Universidad del Sagrado Corazón nearly $3 million to update their internet service technology. The university will install fiber optic cabling throughout its campus, which will allow them to reliably facilitate online classes and streamline the in-person classes already offered.

Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves announced that the Department of Commerce had accepted the university’s funding proposal in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“Connected communities create empowered communities, fostering economic growth and well-being,” said Deputy Secretary Graves. “This grant will expand Universidad del Sagrado Corazón’s remote learning capacity and create new job and entrepreneurship opportunities.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Graves as he oversees the implementation of technology funding.
  • For Puerto Rican officials as they invest in internet technology upgrades.
  • For wisdom for the president and his administration as they make infrastructure awards to proposed projects.
